Arriving in the South after driving from tropical Darwin to the red center desert and than to the Barossa valley was quite a shock for me. It was a multi-day trip, as you all could read. I tried to stay as long as possible in the desert, but with some relatives and friends being worried about me (you know, a young woman all alone in a remote area, and bla bla bla), I had to drive South eventually. To make up some lost time, I drove from Coober Pedy to the Barossa in one day. Temperatures were just half of what they were when I left the desert in the morning. If that wasn’t enough, rain, wind and hale gave me a hearty welcome up on my arrival! There I stood with flipflops in my summer dress at 13 degrees… Damn I miss Darwin!
Luckily, there is a really nice house sit that we are doing here in the Barossa. The house is AWESOME, wheater-wise! It provides a roof over our heads and comes with two super friendly sister cats, Sky and Yasmin. Especially Sky loves to accompany me. Yasmin loves to watch herself in the mirror and enjoys quite a bit of petting before bedtime (also watching herself being petted!!!). Since we don’t have internet access most of the time when we visit remote areas, we write our blog posts a week or so later. Sky especially likes the one in Uluru with the blue sky! Aaaaah… Blue skies…..
