It hardly ever rains in Silverton, an old outback silver mining town, now populated exclusively by artists, pub staff, and donkeys. It also served as the backdrop for many iconic Australian movies, the most famous of which was Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Of course we brought the Belgian weather-gods with us, and visited Silverton on the only overcast day in weeks…

Nonetheless, this town has so much charm! Many a VW beetle got stranded here, and transformed into a slowly decaying artwork. The quirky style of outback, witty art they make here is just AWESOME! Our personal favourite: Howard W. Steer’s “Flying Doctor”, whose book is soon to be found in our bathroom to entertain guests on the dunny! (no dirty hands please)
